Happy monday! Here we are again. Another dose of vive la différence.
The concept: each month I will invite one blogger. They will create and showcase one image/vignette. There are 20 themes and 20 objects for my guest to choose from. They choose 1 theme and up to 3 objects. I will then create an image/vignette based on their choice. Everyone has free reign on how to create the image. It can be simple photography, a drawing, a collage, a hand-painted image, a styled table top… the choice is yours! The fun part is that you, my readers, will see 2 versions inspired by the same subject matter. There is no right or wrong. There’s just ‘different’.
I’m delighted we have our first food blogger, all the way from Australia! Today, let me introduce you to Catherine from farmhousehome.com.au Catherine lives in Melbourne, Australia with her family.
Catherine chose the theme: Pop-up store! She chose the following objects: Food, Magazines and Candles.
Ok, without any further delays, here’s catherine’s explanation and interpretation.
“Inspired by a bush christmas market I went to recently, i decided to make my pop up store a rustic christmas store. For the food I chose plum pudding as it’s one of my favourite christmas desserts. The candles in the clear glass were made by me sourcing old crystal from the charity shop and the magazine component is the christmas decorations..hanging hearts made out of old magazine paper”.

My pop up store is an alternative christmas store. Chocolate and nuts for food and torn up magazines pages inside the little giftbags. Candles at each side. The backdrop is a cardboard folder and the ‘love you’ card is hand-made by upcycling artist alison sye.
Phew! That was quite a challenge for both of us, right Catherine?
I want to thank Catherine for getting us in the christmas mood and being my last guest blogger for 2012. I hope you’ve enjoyed this series (I know i have) and look forward to more guest bloggers in 2013. For those who haven’t come forward yet, please feel free to join in!
My next guest blogger is lined up and vive la différence will be back on monday 7th january 2013.
Have a great start to the week and i shall see you back here on thursday.

Privileged to be your last Guest for the year. Thank you so much for having me. Your pop up store looks AMAZING, so colourful. So interesting to see our different styles. Yes it was a challenge but enjoyed every second of it. Catherine xxx
Aww, loved having you!!! The whole point is to see the differences when using the same theme and objects.
I did find mine hard to photograph, but love that every time I learn something new. I think our stores compliment each other well and if they would be ‘real’ hopefully some customers would come in and buy!!! (maybe not bags full of scrunched up magazine pages:))
Thank you lovely xx
Woohoo! What a great one to end the series for the year. Both these images make me feel happy and festive… hence the “woohoo”. Great job ladies.
ps. Tina, that beaker with the nuts in it was the first thing to draw my eye 😉
Xx. Holly
Thanks for th3e ‘WOOHOO” lovely!!!
Ha. I know it was busy… always a challenge for me to make it busy and yet find a focal point xx
It always amazes me that the same subject matter can produce such different results. It’s so, so interesting; In a wonderful, delightful way, I assure you. Catherine’s pop up shop is cozy and quaint, like a country mart. And, of course, I love all the color in yours, Tina. Great job, you two. Looking forward to seeing more next year! (I haven’t worked up the courage to step forward yet; Working on it. 😉
Thanks T. I’m starting to think you’re using your coyness as an excuse!
Looking at your site you produce graphics on each post. By all means use graphics and illustration on here. It’s really up to you…. Keep on working on it!
such a delight to see perspective in this way. wonderful, Tina. my sweet tooth was drawn to your pop up, though. 😉
Ha. I’m so glad everyone enjoys the different perspectives!
This is such a great idea! Well done Catherine and Tina – true creatives. I look forward to coming back and looking at the others Tina. Mel

Two of my favourite people in one blog post! I love this one T! Food, magazines and candles; a perfect trio xxx
Oh, Leah, you sweetie!!!
Couldn’t agree more. really glad Catherine chose them xx
I just love this theme! Once again, each vignette is so different from the other and yet each are wonderful in their own way.
I love the rusticity of Catherine’s and the black backdrop lends it an air of sophistication. Tina, yours is very reflective of your personality – so effervescent and fun.
Great job, girls and a great end to Vive La Différence 2012. Can’t wait to see who/what next year will bring. Vive la Vive La Différence! 😀 xo
I agree Chi. Catherine’s was very grown up, sophisticated and rather elegant!
It was quite challenging for me! I do like the way both have turned out.
Yay! Here’s to Vive la Différence 2013!!! And, you’ll be part of it. After seeing what you did on Theresa’s blog, there is no getting out…. xx
