There’s a new florist in town. So what? Ah, but this is a florist with a difference. Abigail Ahern just opened a faux floral boutique at Heal’s Tottenham Court Road flagship store. Now that’s newsworthy!
Resembling a hut, you’ll find the boutique nestled in the courtyard just next to Heal’s entrance.
Inside you’re greeted with abundance of florals and accessories
As a long time fan of Ms Ahern, I have watched her rise from humble beginnings in a small shop on Cross Street, to becoming an author, an internationally acclaimed designer, running a design school as well as her emporium on Islington’s Upper Street.
Abigail is not afraid of changes. I suspect she thrives on them. There’s been many ups and downs but when the tough gets going, Abigail comes to life, re-invents the wheel and comes out on top. For those who don’t know of her brand, you’ll be forgiven for thinking this has all come easy. Far from it. If you read her blog you’ll discover that she wears her heart on her sleeve, sharing her failures as well as her successes.
One thing is for sure, Ms Ahern is a fighter and a survivor and I have nothing but admiration for her. She breaks the rules, creates her own manual for living and forges ahead, no matter what. Her taste is impeccable. Having had the good fortune of attending one of her design classes in her house I can tell you that I’ve rarely been so inspired and so jealous of someone’s space. To top it all, she’s down to earth, hard working, ballsy and a cool chick and thoroughly deserves to be where she’s now!
Opening a faux floral boutique within Heal’s on Tottenham Court Road is genius. It’s right in the heart of many homeware shops and will attract a different clientele. But what is more genius to me is that Abigail has been silently working away at her passion for faux botanicals. A couple of years ago her faux flowers were nice (I even bought some) but now they are on a different level.
In times when flowers, plants, succulents and terrariums couldn’t be more in vogue and on trend (well, it’s getting a little overdone in my opinion), Ms Ahern, always trendsetting, is seducing us with her vision of making faux florals the next big thing. As someone who loves fresh flowers and plants I am sold on mixing those up with Abigail Ahern’s latest faux botanicals. If anyone can make faux flowers and plants sexy it’s Ms. Ahern and her sister Gemma. But don’t take my word for it. Take a look for yourselves!

Bouquet of flowers made to order
As you can see, true to being a florist, you can buy whole bouquets, order hanging baskets or just simply choose your own stems. There’s expert advice on hand and also look out for the flower school, taught by Gemma, florist extraordinaire.
Impeccably styled in true Abigail’s fashion, this is a great addition to Heal’s, to the interiors world and to the London shopping scene. Bravo to Abigail and her entire team.
