Today is a special day.
Today is 1st june.
Let me tell you a little story. Back in september 2011 i was sitting at home feeling the need to make some changes. I had just started my journey with colourliving and was feeling restless and in need of inspiration. That very same moment a tweet appeared on tweetdeck by decor8 announcing last entries for blogging your way commencing 1st october. i had just met holly becker at her book signing of decorate at anthropologie here in london so had a vague idea of who she was. But blogging? How do you do this? I’d never really read many blogs before.
Good at knowing how to help myself when in a rut, i blindly signed up and remember thinking i’ll figure out what it’s all about in a few days when the course actually starts.
It started. I listened. I learned. I participated. I took risks. I stayed open hearted. I was humbled. I was inspired. I was fulfilled. I made friends. I now have a new found family and to top it all, i started serious blogging on 1st january 2012, yes, exactly 6 months ago today.
I’ve loved every minute (including the late nights) and my little blog would be nothing without all of you, my readers, and new found friends.
Thanks to holly, i feel creatively inspired, i’ve made new friends, i host the london bloggers group where we’ve already had 5 meet ups since byw and I’ve been to my first bloggers conference, the hive in berlin, where i met even more fantastic bloggers.
I am truly humbled and greatful. Holly, you started off just blogging but who knew you would literally change people’s lives? You changed mine.
How to celebrate? Have you heard of a virtual party? Of course you have! Yes, people, i will celebrate online with the start of byw2.0. What better way i ask you? So, here is to many more blogging birthdays, many more courses, conferences, friendships and humbling moments! See a lot of you in class!
Ooops, it has been pointed out to me that it’s actually only 5 months since 1st january. Oh well, who’s counting when you’re having fun. I will leave this post in the sentiment it was written:)

Happy bloggerversary, Tina:-)) Pop the champagne!
Happy Blog Birthday Tina! What a wonderful celebration of all things blogging.
I’m also really looking forward to getting stuck into BYW2.0!

Happy 6 month birthday to ColourLiving blog! So happy we found each other – Like you, I feel so grateful for what blogging has brought to my life. ALthough I never participated in BYW (yet), Holly’s Decor 8 and Haus Maus blogs were the first blogs I seriously followed 2 and a half years ago when we relocated to Germany. Combining interior design and her adventures of changing countries, I could relate to and appreciate a lot of what she was posting about. It brought me a lot of comfort and inspiration at the perfect time. That led to eventually starting my own blog and discovering a great community I didn’t even know existed. So I too call say, thank you Holly!
Xx.
Happy Happy day to you my dear! What a cause for celebration! I’m so grateful for your blog, Tina and so grateful for your view on the world. You’re off to a fabulous start, and I can’t wait to see what the rest of your blogging life has in store for you! This community is a true gift, isn’t it? xoxo
Yay for blogging anniversaries! Even the smaller ones are worth celebrating. I would give yourself more credit though; I don’t think you owe all of this to Holly. It’s not like she invented blogging afterall. She just found the quickest way to monetize her own hobby and share her secrets of blogging as more than a hobby. I personally don’t get all the fanfare over her. That isn’t to discredit her accomplishments, and I do like her blog, but it’s not like she cured cancer or anything. I will say that regardless of whatever started you blogging, I’m definitely glad you did! It’s a fun journey, isn’t it? Here’s to many more! Echoing Lauren, the community really is the best part.
Hey happy blogiversary Tina! I for one am glad you’re posting more often.
Interesting to see how BYW is, don’t think I’ll get as much out as I can’t put as much in. I simply can’t believe how many of us are doing it, it feels like we know the entire 750! Looking forward to getting stuck in. holly is a great teacher. As Erin says though, it’s all your hard work, your words and photos so don’t underestimate your talents x
He he, I was going to point out that it was 5 months. It seems to me that blogging us something you were meant to do, you are a very talented lady. I am so happy it led to us meeting. Looking forward to our next catch up.
Happy six months!! (Whose counting? 😉 I still can’t believe you only just started in January. You seem so seasoned at this blogging thing. Suppose I have Holly to thank for our paths crossing, albeit in six degrees (or less) of separation. Regardless, I am glad we found each other. You inspire me to look after myself, think differently about things, and appreciate where I’m suppose to be right now (i.e., not fight against the current so much). Thank you. I am forever grateful for this commuity we have. Here’s to many more anniversaries!
congratulations. i have been a silent reader for a while. i love your blog and the voice you bring. here’s to many more brilliant posts xxx
