creativity – books giveaway

May 30, 2013

Hello my friends.

A lot of you will know that i have a monthly series called the creative process here on the blog. I’ve always been fascinated by creativity and it’s process. I thought it’s time to have another giveaway and since i’m an eternal student, i tend to encourage reading and love for people to be inspired by books.

I looked through my shelves and picked out books that have helped shape my thoughts and ideas around creativity. Some you might know or own, others could be new to you. Have a look through and see what takes yor fancy. Some are real classics and would be found in any respectable home library. In the spirit of ‘our times’ please feel free to ask for e-books should the chosen titles be available in that format.

These are the rules: One winner will receive 3 books of their choice. Please leave a comment and tell me which 3 books you would like. If you wish you can also say why you’ve chosen those 3 titles. The giveaway will stay open until thursday 13th June 2013 at 6pm GMT. The winner will be chosen by random.org

    What a fantastic giveaway!

After attending The Hive, I find myself suddenly in a sort of frozen state. Perhaps from too many unrealized ideas, I now feel like my mind is a complete blank.

So this is the best timing possible for works that not only inspire but teach how to channel our creativity.

    My picks:
    – The Creative Habit
    – Ignore everybody
    – Steal like an artist

Thanks for the chance to enter!

    What a fabulous giveaway!

Okay, I know exactly what I need:

    – Steal like an artist (because it’s a great title that makes me want to read it right away)

    – Ignore everybody (because it’s a great title, too AND because I know that I pay too much attention to other people’s thoughts or the thoughts I think they might have. I definitely need some ignoring tips and tools)

    – the artist’s way. If I don’t win it, I’ll buy it. You talk about it, Chi talks about it and now Dietlind Wolf told us it has been one of her bibles for 11 years now. 3 great women, one book. Who wouldn’t want this one?

Thank you, Merci, Danke and have a wonderful weekend!

    Lena

Hi Tina, thanks for a great giveaway: I always wish I had more time to read, and if I won any of these amazing titles I will make sure I do take time:
    My selection if picked :
Steal like an artist > because it caught my eye, and I’d like to know more (and how to:)
The artist’s way > because I think i am a kinda artist, and it is the book to have so yes please:)
Make the impossible possible > because it is one of my mantras – from this Audrey Hepburn quote: Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’
Fingers XXX – would be awesome to win.
Happy weekend love, hope the sun comes out to play, sending some from here >today it is almost mediterranean + 23 degrees. Bliss.

    Hi Tina,

What a generous and wonderful giveaway! I think I’d like The Artists Way, How To Have Kick Ass Ideas and The Creative Habit. Thank you!

  • Reply Nicola June 4, 2013 at 11:47 pm

Goodness me Tina – and this is just the tip of the iceberg of what you’ve read??

I’ve read (and go back to) nos.2, 6 and 13 so they’re out.

I used to receive a regular e-mail from no.9 so he’s out (recommended by the guy who started etsy who I met at Drink, Shop, Do)

So I would go for nos. 1, 10 and 12, particularly as she’s a dancer xx

These book giveaways are such a beautiful idea 🙂

    My choices would be:
    – Make The Impossible Possible
    – Ignore Everybody
    – The Artist’s Way

I chose the first two because I like the titles and I don’t know anything about these books. I chose the last because this book has been recommended by so many people, especially in the last few months.

Thanks TIna! And good luck to all!!

    Xx.

Scream out loud… had posted a comment and then closed the page. Flip sake. Anyway… trying again 😉

I did struggle with this as I’m always a little uncertain whenever it comes to creativity books. So I’ve opted for three titles that appear to be fun, engaging & inviting. They are:

    Steal Like An Artist
    Ignore everybody
    Thinkertoys

Thanks for the generous giveaway Tina 🙂 xx

This is such a splendid idea! So my choice would

‘The back of the Napkin’ as I’m constantly writing and doodling on napkins.
‘Ignore Everybody’ because I’m totally up for doing my own thing not matter what.
‘Make the impossible Possible’ as I have big dreams!

    Thank yooouuu! x
