Greetings everyone! Yes, yes, yes, vive la différence is back, exactly after a month and will continue to do so…. the next guest blogger is already lined up!
For new readers:
The concept: each month I will invite one blogger. They will create and showcase one image/vignette. There are 20 themes and 20 objects for my guest to choose from. They choose 1 theme and up to 3 objects. I will then create an image/vignette based on their choice. Everyone has free reign on how to create the image. It can be simple photography, a drawing, a collage, a hand-painted image, a styled table top… the choice is yours! The fun part is that you, my readers, will see 2 versions inspired by the same subject matter. There is no right or wrong. There’s just ‘different’.
Oh, what can i say? We have a gentleman! I think that is actually the right description for my guest blogger today.
Let me introduce you to Igor from happyinterblog.com Does he need an introduction? Nah, not really:) Igor is one of the happiest people i know and his blog is a true reflection of his personality. I know many of you are excited to see a man take part in this series, so without further ado, let me show you today’s submission.
Igor chose the theme of The Wilderness together with the following objects: Cushion, Crockery and Fabrics. Here’s his description:
On chilly, foggy saturday mornings in autumn, I like to imagine the wilderness out there. Dark green forests, snow capped mountains, a deep blue lake and a wooden hut. Glazing through the window with a mug of hot, freshly brewed coffee that enchants my senses. A real autumn morning in the wilderness. Instead, i find myself in bed, leaned against my linen pillow in a grey hue like the grey autumn sky, snuggled into my green throw like a wild forest and clinging to my favorite mug with hot, steamy coffee. What a great morning.

I am imagining a night spent in the wilderness (ok, maybe in a luxurious yurt)! Deer running in the background, a bonfire, eating some delicious simple food (wilderness survival food is stretching it a bit:) talking to wise men and taking in the simplicity of beautiful nature! Far away from technology and the rush of city living this imaginary scenario would do wonders for a mindful meditation.
Well, i hope you’ve enjoyed this month’s theme, got some inspiration and once again discovered that there is no right or wrong but just our own interpretations. I would like to thank igor for being brave and starting off the ‘male’ submissions. I hope there will be many more in the future. For those who haven’t yet signed up to do this, feel free to add your names in the comments.
As ever, i’ve had a blast and can’t wait for the next one, scheduled for monday 10th december. I hope you all have a great week and i’ll see you back here on thursday!

Vive la différence! So much fun to see your different interpretations of theme & objects! I’d love to join 🙂
Hello Judith. Thank you for stopping by. You have a great blog!
Of course you can join in! It won’t be till spring next year as the list has been compiled.
I’ll be in touch:)
Thanks for having me over, Tina! It was great fun!
Igor, thank you! It was a complete pleasure to have you and the first BOY!
LOVE your blanket!!! #jealous
Although different in looks, there is a warmth and cosy friendliness in these images. So interesting to see the interpretations – such a great feature idea. 🙂 x
Thanks Geraldine. I’m glad people like this feature and find it interesting to see the different interpretations! x
Luxury yurt versus wilderness-mmm, let me see… Actually, we tried a luxury yurt once and it was no better than out lovely tent!! Well done Igor and great feature missey xx
Ha. Really?? Yet, Yurts sound so luxurious. Interesting! Thank you Caroline xx
I wouldn’t mind spending the night in the wilderness in a luxury yurt or a tent if Bear Grills was there to guide me through it! I love where Igor’s imagination takes him to on a Saturday morning. Beautiful blankets used in both interpretations, so cosy. Well done Igor & Tina, I could totally imagine being in both these scenarios.
Speaking of food styling and vive la difference Tina you have to check out Mel’s blog Armoire, Pegs & Casserole, it’s about home decoration and ideas to live with http://armoirepegsandcasserole.com/. She has done a quick five questions with food bloggers Liz & Jewels who have built their whole website around Vive La Difference. Mel is absolutely lovely, I guest posted on her blog a month or so ago.
Have a good week also. Catherine xx
Nice that you can see both situations working for you:)
Thank you for the introduction of Armoire Pegs & Casserole. Great blog. Interesting post on Vive la différence. Thanks for that.
Hope Dad is better!! xx
Oh, I like both interpretations very much. Of course, Igor’s version makes me want to curl up and take a nap; In a very good way, I assure you. Linen sheets with a hot beverage? Yes, please. Another great installment, Tina. So nice to see a gentleman participate.
Gentleman is so the right description for lovely Igor! He is such a gentleman!! (like in the good olden days).
Thanks T.
Hi Tina & Igor – I love this series, and I love how different you picture the theme. Well done both of you, happy Tuesday and I look forward to seeing more.
Hugs
Ax
You are on the list so get ready:)) (not till 2013, so you can relax….)
Hugs to you lovely Anya xx
Great job guys! I feel the wilderness in both these wonderful images 🙂 Tina, yours has more of a woodsy feel, while Igor’s leans more towards a jungle type wilderness.
Love this series! Xx. Holly.
Hello Holly! Interesting analysis. Glad ‘the wilderness’ was represented in both our scenarios xx
Can we combine both gorgeous descriptions? Fire crackling, cup of coffee, wilderness in view with deer prancing by. I love it! This is a fun feature, Tina. Please count me in for any month you’d like. Hugs.
You are on the list…. will email you in December:)
Hope you are well.
Nice combo… like it!!!! xx
Great job, you two! I love the simplicity of yours, Igor – it is indeed meditative and serene. I feel so restful (and tempted to get back into bed!) just looking at it. Lovely colour and texture, too – the greens in the blanket, the rusticity of the wood, the crinkled pillow …
Tina’s is sultry and romantic, almost as though she’ll be dining cosily a deux in his yurt. 🙂 Love your use of wild foliage and berries, too.
It’s so nice to have a man for a change – looking forward to the next instalment! x
Chi, you’re also on the list. AArrggghhh (that’s what you’re probably thinking)
I really enjoyed having a man take part! It brings such a different perspective and I love it!
Thanks for your comment xx
Tina, love checking in on this series x i
Ha. Anticipate the next one… 10th December… x
This series is such a great idea, Tina. Your description, Igor, is truly evocative and both the images are warm and friendly and support the words. Also, I love the blanket! 🙂
I ALSO love the blanket!!! Want it really:)
Thanks love. Let me know if you want to join. It wouldn’t be for 6 months or so… x
A gentleman indeed! T, this is great! I love both interpretations! Luxury yurt…. yes please!!! You can come and puy a yurt on my property any time! (Hopefully you can help me design wise in my home while you are here. Wine and g&t’s included 🙂 Happy weekend lovely xx
Ha. DEAL!!! I’ll fly over, stay in a yurt in your amazing grounds and in return help you with some design for the home. Booked:) I only have one comment. I don’t drink alcohol. Food, though, lots of healthy and yummy food. Preferably BBQ’s. Thanks. Let me have the dates:))) xx
Oh I do enjoy this series.
It amazes me every time how different the interpretations can be. I would happily be transported to either montage this morning cosy and warm next to a fire in the great outdoors x
Ta love. You are also on the list!!! Not till next year though… hope you’re still up for it!
Will be fun xx
Such a great concept for a blog post – looking forward to the next one 🙂 xKx
So, stylist assistant! You don’t fancy a go at this? x
