Ah, I was excited about today’s Urban Jungle Bloggers’ topic.
Urban Jungle Bloggers is a monthly series, devised by Igor and Judith. The idea is to get some green into our homes, especially for us urban folks! Every month they invite bloggers to share ideas for creating an urban jungle through styling challenges, DIYs, green tips and tricks. Every month there is a different theme on the topic. You can follow and get more urban jungle bloggers inspiration on their Pinterest boards and Facebook page.
February’s theme is: Jungle animals.
I did this little painting for my #cl365dys daily challenge on Instagram. The subject matter was plants so I painted some of my plants featured here today.
Meet my latest hanging plant, known as a lipstick plant (don’t you love that name)? It’s not hard to care for and produces these lovely red flowers. And what about my giraffe, standing proud and tall?
Hello Mr. Penguin and Ms. Goose. I’ve had these for years and their knodding heads always make me smile.
Some of you might have read my post about my new fav plant shop Conservatory Archives. Well, I picked up this rare cactus called: Copiapoa Humiles. Gorgeous or what? And Miss Flamingo is a trusted friend and happens to look great against that grey vase! Let’s face it, every decent jungle needs some pink!
A lot of you won’t have had the pleasure to meet Marian, my 1900 crested grebe. She was featured in my very first Urban Jungle Bloggers’ post in February 2014. Woah, it’s been 2 years of Urban Jungle Bloggers’ fun!!
Elegant, regal and beautiful, she keeps a watchful eye out for the plants.
Ah, my yellow frog. Never kissed, so cannot tell you whether he would turn into a beautiful prince. Love that he’s yellow though.
I’m not quite sure any of you have met my tricolore Maranta. A real beauty! I love the burgundy velvety reverse of the leaves.
Meet Mr. super friendly Orangutan. He’s king of my animal jungle. There are plenty more in my abode but maybe for another time.
It’s been fun. See you next month, fellow Urban Jungle Bloggers. Looking forward to meeting your animal jungle.
This post will stay live until Thursday 18th February.
