    Dalston Eastern Curve Garden

    August 8, 2013

It’s all happening in dalston, trust me! This is the second post of an inspiring area in london. Earlier this week, i blogged about street feast taking over a car park. There’s one more post coming in the next couple of weeks on yet another inspiring venture, so stay tuned!

Today, let me introduce you to the dalston eastern curve garden, build on the site of an old railway line. It’s next to the gorgeous and well-known hackney peace carnival mural, painted in 1985.

The garden was built in 2010 as an initiative to transform strategic public space in dalston. It was identified as a green route and thus an eco concept emerged.

After funding had seized, they decided to open an air cafe and will shortly also be serving food.

The freshly pressed lemonade was a delight!

All tables have these self-grown wild flower arrangements. It’s all so unpretentious!

There are lots of activities for both children and adults, so check out their events calendar.

I love all the growing of herbs, vegetables and flowers and you’ll find a huge amount of green space to lounge and relax on. For those, who don’t like sitting on blankets and cushions, there are enough tables and chairs around.

Simply decorated and yet so effective, don’t you think?

I first went a couple of years ago and was impressed then. Now, I’m loving it. It’s my new secret place to hang out in but as i’ve now revealed it to all of you, we might as well have a london bloggers meetup there before the weather turns. It’s ok to bring our own snacks as long as we buy drinks and some cakes from the cafe and help them to sustain themselves.

I don’t know about you but where else in london can you find such a wild space? Any takers for the meetup?

    Happy weekend everyone.
