Street Feast – Dalston Yard

August 5, 2013

Happy new week. The creative process is on a summer break and will return on 2 september.

Instead, i’ve got some colourful and vibrant visual porn for you, courtesy of street feast. Before we go any further here’s the lowdown on the different street food festivals currently doing the rounds in london. There’s feast, street feast and kerb. They are all slightly different but essentially do the same thing. They provide yummy street food to lovers of good food and drink.

I didn’t concentrate on photographing food as i’ve done that before at feast. No, i wanted to capture the simply stunning colours, graffiti and very raw decor. I can’t remember the last time i saw such vibrancy.

For the next 6 weeks, every friday and saturday, street feast is back at dalston yard, a car park during the week. I hope these images inspire you a little and give you ideas for colours or interiors.

This is so, SO cool!!! I love the photo of the diners surrounded by graffiti.

One of the most amazing homes I’ve ever seen in Livingetc. had a graffiti-style chalkboard wall for their kids – definitely on my to-do list.

Thanks for the inspiration! 😀 x

      Thanks Chi.
You couldn’t style this, right? Or did they?

Oh, would love to see that graffiti-style chalkboard. Now there’s an idea for your kids:-)
      Glad you’re well xx

That’s funny, we’re in sync again! I’ve got a bit of a graffiti, laneway vibe happening in my latest post. Love the vibrancy of the colours and the grungy surrounds. I remember your post well from Feast last year, love street food and love these events.

So inspiring, Tina. I get so much inspiration from the colours of buildings and one of the best things about London is it’s abundance of that very thing! I especially love the weathered colours on the bricks.

      Hi Inge,

      Thank you for stopping by.
I’m a great fan of street food but the venue of this one was like music to my ears. I had to simply record it.
Have a great summer break x

As usual I love all your colourful images! And I do love street feasts, too. Just went to one two weeks ago here in Munich and loved the cool atmosphere – fine food, cool music and a vibrant, very hipster-esque neighborhood celebrated the joys of summer on the street. Not a bad weekend treat, right?

So, is this new that Munich had street food events now?
Would love to see that in Munich, especially a hipster-esque neighbourhood. Oh the ‘Münchner’ lot can be so stuck up!! xx

Wow! You were not kidding about visual porn! Favourite??Too hard to choose!! But if I HAD to… it would be #17, the one with the green wall and huge empty frame 🙂

Went to a fab street food fest last weekend – http://biteclub.de – It was the the opening, a new event, and it was so great! Food and location, right on the Spree, even on a boat. You would have loved it, wish you were there 😉

    Xx.

Hahaha! True, no? Yes, the gin bar was too cool for school.
They really had this 30’s chicago vibe going on that was reflected in their decor. Real inspiring stuff.
Isn’t that green and gold just fab??

Wow, so that was their first event. Interesting how Street Food events have spread like Fire… love that it was on a boat and I would have LOVED
to be there with you xx

My gosh, how fantastic! I love how they have put all the dining tables in amongst the graffiti filled warehouse space. Just so inspiring. Your photo’s are wonderful and reflect the vibrancy of the festival. xD
