Anya Hindmarch Service Station Pop Up in Selfridges

September 14, 2015

Fashion is not something I feature on this blog, nor have I got a particular interest in it. But when I see a great concept, I’m interested. On Friday I read about Anya Hindmarch‘s service station pop up in Selfridges car park and just had to quickly pop in.

For those who can still make it (today, Monday 14th September is the last day), you enter via the Shoe Galleries on Level 2.

You immediately get drawn into this fun and brilliant concept. The cone display just had me straight away!

These hi-vis jackets are actually on sale. At the back they will print your name. Fabulous.

The graphics and temporary displays just worked. Compliments to the design team.

How cool is this display wall? Just makes you want to own the bag, right?

One word. Cool!

Men at work, one of my favourite pieces that were on sale in the brilliant kiosk. Whether it’s travel sweets,  mints, a trucker cap, a travel sick bag, a travel cup or some condoms, the kiosk has it all!

Who’s not thinking of the film ‘Car wash’ right now? Another part of the fun. You can have your photo taken at the ‘hot car wash photo station’. Needless to say, I enjoyed watching others do it!

Some of the fab handbags. Got to love the fun element.

Now to my favourite bits… STICKERS! Yes, but no ordinary stickers. These are all leather stickers to enhance and customise your own bags. That’s the part I love. Never understood the notion of women chasing after the usual suspects in luxury handbags. With these stickers you can really make it your own and show that whatever your age, you are still playful at heart!

I played around with them on my own purse and realised that they can be used for many applications. I am thinking greeting cards, leather covered sketchbooks. The list is endless. A bit pricey but far less than buying a new bag every season! LOVE!!

I’m really glad I managed to pop in on Friday evening. You all know my love for Selfridges. There’s always something to inspire, there’s always something innovative.

This exhibit finishes tonight (Monday 14th September) and I have it on good authority that it’s travelling to other parts of the world. A fun and very effective campaign. Hats off to Anya Hindmarch and her team.
