Igloo Flowers

July 17, 2014

Wow. A week of sunshine in London. What better way than grab food, sit in parks, buy flowers and be merry.

Summer is here and flowers are in abundance. One little shop I’m a big fan of is Igloo Flowers on Bermondsey Street.  A little gem of a street with lots of fantastic eateries and shops and the wonderful Fashion and Textile Museum.

What I really like about Igloo Flowers is that they are a florist and delicatessen all in one. Many of you know I’m not a fan of many florists as I prefer wild flowers. But Igloo do it differently. Pre-wrapped, well priced and completely unpretentious, people pick up a bunch while they’re getting coffee or sitting in for a little snack.

Really love their facade. It’s very inviting.

Inside it’s dark and moody, but look at this wonderful painting on the back wall!

Loving the copper pots hanging off the ceiling and those lights, yum! Oh, and the food is delicious too.

But foremost I wanted to leave you with flowers. There’s something really wonderful about getting a bunch of fresh flowers. the colours and smell will brighten up any home and soul.

That’s a nice combo, hadn’t heard about this mix until now and I love it. It just really makes sense, it’s the same target, isn’t it? Those who enjoy flowers, certainly love to have a nice wine, cheese and crispy bread with it. I would:-) Have a wonderful weekend, Tina! x

Yes, it was new to me too. What is really nice is that a) they choose lovely and different flowers (I didn’t show everything) and b) that they aren’t hugely expensive. For me it’s a perfect combo!! Thanks Gudy x

I think you would really like this place. In fact, why don’t we meet up there for a drink or a coffee and some flower shopping?
      Thanks James.

Ha. Thought we have quite a bit of sunshine here at the moment….

It’s also one of my favourite streets. May have to look for a flat to live over there. x

Not sure I know this shop. Is it quite new? I love Bermondsey street so much… think I might have said before that it is one of my favourite streets in London. I’m not that fussed on flowers personally (sinus problems…) but it looks like a lovely little shop. Esp. the coffee side of things 🙂 Quirky & cool!

Yep, you, me and Alison. I would definitely love a flat there…

Oh, didn’t know you have a sinus problem. Next time you’re in town, let’s go there xx

I could live and work at Igloo flowers easily. I love the lighting and I can almost smell the flowers from my office chair. I miss London mainly for the flower shops, I used to visit a different one every day when I lived there. We have about 3 in my town now….slight difference and at the same time it’s all the same….they all have flowers! 🙂 Have a good week! xx

      Haha.

I would like to visit them more often myself.
You have only 3 flower shops near you? have you thought about opening one and combining it wit interior accessories? I can so see you
      do this….

This combo of flowers and deli/café is different and I welcome it. Thanks Jocelyn xx
