A Sunset in London

January 16, 2014

You all know my my unequivocal love for London and when the weather is nice, to me, it’s unbeatable. One of my favourite views is to stand on Waterloo Bridge and gaze at that majestic panorama.

We had the most beautiful cold and sunny day last Saturday. As I was in town and it wasn’t long until sunset I decided to hop over to the South Bank and take some shots while watching the sun go down. There were loads of people going for walks, drinking coffee, laughing and for a moment everyone looked so happy and peaceful. A wonderful moment. Enjoy!

TINA! These pictures are stunning. The first shot really is a winner but I also love the pink/purple ombre sky of the later shots. Thanks for sharing.

Gorgeous photos! The ones of St Paul’s cathedral with the pinky sky are so wonderful. The South Bank is one of my favourite places in London, the lovely combination of stunning architecture, the river and all of the hustle and bustle of people! Perfect. x

I know, I feel exactly the same way. It’s a perfect spot for so many reasons and even after 34 years, I will NEVER tire of it!
      Thank you x

These are so stunning, love how you’ve taken them with a little time between them as well, the colour changes are just beautiful. Only one problem: they tell me that I need to get out more than I currently do 😉 xo

I couldn’t resist but actually stare and stare. The funny thing was that I couldn’t decide where to photograph. The sky had so many colours in all different directions:-)

      Get out more woman x

Beautiful shots Tina, you even made a Brutalist building look pretty during the golden hour xx

    • Reply tina January 20, 2014 at 3:58 pm

Hahaha. Those Brutalist building shots were taken with Gerard (Walnutgrey) and Ben and Joe (HopperandSpace) in mind…. they always try and get me to like Concrete:-) but agreed, they looked rather pretty… thanks Nicola x

Such a gorgeous post Tina. It captures everything that is beautiful and great about London. The wonderful architecture from historical to modern and everything between…. even brutalist!! All looking stunning in the winter sunset. And of course the Thames running right through. A magical mix! Xx

Wow these photos are so beautiful that they almost look fake. You know I love London, but what I even love more are sunsets. I think they are God’s gift and I always, always stop my car to watch them. I never understand how people can just go on in their rush without even noticing it.
The way the light touches the buildings, magnificent. My favourite is the one with the river Thames. It looks like a painting. Really…wow!

      Well, thank you!
I do know your love for London:-)

I know what you mean but it depends where you are at that moment. I love it best when I am on my Vespa or like here, I actually stop and look properly.
Thank you Louise! I have had lovely comments…. •blush•

Wow, gorgeous photos! It’s my favorite time of day to take photos too, with the warm light. Haven’t taken many of them in London yet though, but you’ve definitely inspired me.

      Hi Jacintha,

Happy New year. What are you waiting for? I have to admit, the light that day was magnificent. It hasn’t quite been the same since.
Look forward to some of your sunsets:-)

You already know that I love your photography so I won’t repeat myself, but I really love the one of the bridge that over looks the shore with boats. Such a great angle and well taken. xD
